Strange Material - Leather Flooring

Leather Flooring:

Due to technology and the fast development of everything, strange materials in the design world have a big share in the market. Every day there is a new or an old material that is used differently in a creative way with new creative ideas. Leather is one of these materials that is used nowadays not only in apparels, upholstery, and suitcases…etc., but also is starting to be used as flooring and wall covering material. If soft, exotic, and durable are the feelings that the customer is looking for in the bedroom or the living room, leather flooring is definitely an option to consider.

How does it work

Leather flooring or wall covering comes in tiles with different sizes, textures, colors, and sometimes laser engraving. They can be recycled leather or straight from the cowhide. One of the big advantages of this flooring type is that it has a good resistance to moisture and sound absorbent; it can also be scratch resistant depending on the quality of the finishing coat, but what is better than an aged leather piece? A scratch here or there would give it more charm and character.

 Durability and Maintenance:

Since leather flooring is composed of centermost part of cowhide, it tends to be very firm and think which makes it very durable and better looking with time. Tree bark tanning of the leather gives it strength as well, however, direct exposure to the sun and water can damage the tile. To maintain, Polishing and buffing with leather wax is preferred with the minimal amount of water.
